Our school offers an intentional balance of promoting rigorous academics along with advancing a child’s character education and ability to learn by doing. Through a variety of innovative programs and events, Jackson students benefit by approaching things by the book – as well as out of the box.
Warren T. Jackson Elementary was founded in 1966 and has been serving students in kindergarten through fifth grades in the North Buckhead area of Atlanta since its opening in 1967. We are proud to offer a balanced approach to education that focuses on academic excellence while instilling in our students both confidence and character.
Over the years, the student body of Warren T. Jackson has grown along with its reputation, leading to the opening of a second campus on Northside Drive in 2007. Known as the primary center, it serves as the facility for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first grades, while the main campus on Mt. Paran Road is dedicated to second through fifth. Jackson is currently home to approximately 800 students and a staff of over 100 educators and support personnel who are committed to creating an environment where children thrive.

International Baccalaureate Mission
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
Warren T. Jackson Elementary School, an International Baccalaureate World School, is an Atlanta Public School, nationally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and schools. Since 1965, Jackson Elementary has been the quiet jewel in our neighborhood that has consistently provided our children with superior academics, unique learning experiences and an emotional intelligence so they are fully prepared for their academic future.
Jackson was the second public school nationwide to obtain dual certification as both IB Primary Years Program and a STEAM certified school. All Jackson teachers are certified in gifted education to provide above and beyond enrichment opportunities for all students.
